A Life of Beauty

I started my Journey as a Makeup Artist at the Age of 14. I’ve won a Few Awards along the way, Travelled the World for Work and made alot of New Friends.
My passion lay in Fine Art at School, later going on to studying Photography & Digital Media at College & University.
I however decided to follow my dreams, leaving University Early to Launch Iman Cosmetics in Selfridges, London in 1997.

Brief Career Timeline

I started my makeup career at the Age of 14 through Various Agencies for 5 years working with Major Cosmetics Companies until taking the role as  a Lead Makeup Artist with the original team to launch Iman at their flagship counter in Selfridges, London in 1997.

  • 2001 I studied to become a Nail Technician
  • 2006 The London College of Beauty Therapy was my next stop to gain my NVQ qualifications
  • 2007 I headed to St Mary’s University College for an ITEC in Holistic Massage Rehabilitative Therapy.
  • 2010 I moved to Nigeria and we launched my first product “Sacred Lashes”.  I’m proud to say it was the first Nigerian Owned Lash Brand and within a year it grew into a full retail services beauty boutique with 2 different physical store locations and a Spa Consultacy helping other Businesses Set Up as well as helping Retail Brands wishing to Enter The Market.
  • 2012 I qualified as a Adult Further Education Teacher in the UK (PTLLS) in order to be able to establish my own training courses in Makeup & Beauty Therapy.
  • 2015 The SFX Store was born.  I had a dream to provide The first dedicated online Film & TV makeup store in Nigeria and service West Africa as a whole.  It was really important in order to help the industry grow that budding artists and veterans had a place that they knew they could find SFX makeup products at a reasonable price.  We are currently still the number 1 specialist store and have helped to grow and educate the market on product use and techniques.

Beyond The Screen

My published work has been featured on the Front Cover of Forbes Magazine, Front Cover of The Observer Magazine UK, Vogue Italia (Online) and Several Other Magazines in Nigeria and The UK.

I’m thankful to have been personally interviewed and featured on the front page covers in several Newspapers and Magazines over the years as well as guest appearing on TV Shows and have recorded my own tutorial tips and tricks for Dark & Lovely, Jumia Nigeria and EVA TV (AMC Networks) which was shown across 8 countries on the African Continent

In 2018 I was featured in the Advertising Campaign for Lancome (West Africa) and Nominated as One of The 100 Most Inspiring Women in Nigeria.
